Ingredients
  

  • For the Tofu Steaks
  • Firm tofu – 300 g sliced into thick steaks
  • Cornstarch – 1 tbsp
  • Olive oil – 1.5 tbsp
  • For the Vegan “Honey” Glaze
  • Maple syrup or agave – 2 tbsp
  • Soy sauce – 1 tbsp
  • Garlic minced – 1 tsp
  • Ginger grated – ½ tsp
  • Chili flakes – ¼ tsp
  • Lemon juice – 1 tsp

  • Spring onions – 1 tbsp chopped
  • Sesame seeds – ½ tsp

Method
 

  1. Pat the tofu dry and slice it into two steak-style slabs.
  2. Coat each piece lightly with cornstarch for crispiness.

  4. Sear the tofu steaks until golden on both sides.
  5. Mix maple syrup, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, chili flakes, and lemon juice.
  6. Pour the glaze into the hot pan.
