Ingredients

Vanilla Panna Cotta Layer
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp gelatin powder
  • 2 tbsp cold water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Berry Coulis Layer
  • 1 cup mixed berries
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Saucepan
  • Whisk
  • Measuring Cups
  • Serving Glasses
  • Refrigerator

Method

  1. Bloom gelatin in cold water for 5 minutes until softened.
  2. Heat cream, milk, and sugar until warm. Stir until sugar dissolves completely.
  3. Remove from heat and whisk in gelatin until fully dissolved. Add vanilla extract.
  4. Pour first layer into glasses and chill until partially set but still slightly soft.
  5. Prepare berry coulis by cooking berries, sugar, and lemon juice. Blend until smooth.
  6. Pour berry layer gently over panna cotta. Chill again until fully set before serving.

Notes

For softer layers, reduce gelatin slightly; for firmer structure, increase it. Do not freeze, as layers separate. Pour layers slowly to keep clean separation. Customize flavors with different fruits. Store covered in refrigerator up to three days for best texture and appearance.
