A tender, smoky vegan BBQ jackfruit dish made in the slow-cooker, perfect for quick, hands-off meals with big flavor.

Ingredients
  

Main
  • Canned young jackfruit – 400 g drained
  • BBQ sauce – ½ cup
  • Onion – ½ cup sliced
  • Garlic – 1 tsp minced
  • Olive oil – 1 tbsp
  • Paprika – ½ tsp
  • Black pepper – ¼ tsp
  • Salt – ¼ tsp
  • Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
Optional Add-ins
  • Chili flakes – ¼ tsp
  • Maple syrup – 1 tsp for sweeter sauce

Method
 

  1. Drain and rinse jackfruit.
  2. Shred pieces lightly with a fork.
  3. Add jackfruit, onion, garlic, BBQ sauce, olive oil, paprika, salt, pepper, and lemon juice into the slow cooker.
  4. Stir well.
  5. Cook on LOW for 4 hours.
  6. Stir halfway for even flavor.
  7. Shred again if needed.
  8. Serve hot in bowls, wraps, or buns.
