Ingredients

For the Vegan “Pork Chops”
  • 2 cups seitan or firm tofu thickly sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp thyme
  • ½ tsp salt
For the Cajun Sauce
  • 1 tbsp vegan butter
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • ½ tsp chili flakes
  • ½ cup vegetable broth
  • ½ cup coconut cream or oat cream
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
For Garnish
  • Fresh parsley or chives

Method

  1. Marinate the Magic: Toss seitan or tofu in olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne, thyme, and salt. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Sear Like a Boss: Heat skillet over medium-high heat. Sear each side for 5 minutes until golden and crisp. Remove and set aside.
  3. Start the Sauce: Melt vegan butter in the same pan. Add onions and garlic, sauté until fragrant and lightly browned.
  4. Spice It Up: Stir in paprika, Cajun seasoning, and chili flakes. Let the aroma hit—this is your flavor moment.
  5. Creamy Goodness: Pour in broth and coconut cream. Stir and simmer for 5 minutes until sauce thickens beautifully.
  6. Combine & Coat: Add “pork chops” back into the pan, spoon sauce generously over each, and simmer for 3 minutes.
  7. Serve & Slay: Garnish with parsley or chives. Pair with rice, roasted veggies, or your favorite mocktail.
