Ingredients

Tofu Steak
  • 1 block firm tofu (pressed, sliced into steaks)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
Honey Glaze
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 tsp ginger (optional)

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Skillet
  • Spatula
  • Knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Plate

Method

  1. Press tofu to remove excess moisture, then slice into even steak-like pieces.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add tofu and cook until golden and crisp.
  3. Flip tofu carefully and cook the other side until evenly browned and slightly crispy.
  4. Mix honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger to create a glaze.
  5. Add glaze to the pan and stir gently until tofu is coated and sauce thickens.
  6. Serve immediately while hot for best texture and flavor.

Notes

Cook longer for crispier edges or shorter for softer texture. Freezing tofu before cooking improves chewiness. Handle gently while flipping. Customize with spices or vegetables. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to three days.
