Teriyaki Tofu Bowl Easy Dinner Recipe

A flavorful vegan teriyaki tofu bowl made with crispy tofu, homemade teriyaki sauce, veggies, and rice for a quick, balanced, satisfying dinner.

Ingredients
  

For the Tofu
  • Firm tofu – 250 g cubed
  • Cornstarch – 1 tbsp
  • Olive oil – 1 tbsp
For the Teriyaki Sauce
  • Soy sauce – 2 tbsp
  • Maple syrup – 1.5 tbsp
  • Rice vinegar – 1 tbsp
  • Garlic – 1 tsp minced
  • Ginger – ½ tsp grated
  • Water – 2 tbsp
  • Cornstarch slurry ½ tsp cornstarch + 1 tsp water
For the Bowl
  • Cooked rice – 1 cup
  • Broccoli – ½ cup steamed
  • Carrots – ½ cup sliced
  • Sesame seeds – ½ tsp
  • Spring onions – 1 tbsp chopped

Method
 

  1. Coat tofu cubes with cornstarch.
  2. Heat olive oil and crisp the tofu for 5–6 minutes.
  3. Mix soy sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and water.
  4. Pour the sauce into the pan.
  5. Add the cornstarch slurry to thicken.
  6. Toss tofu until glossy.
  7. Add rice to bowls.
  8. Top with tofu, broccoli, and carrots.
  9. Sprinkle sesame seeds and spring onions.
